Power Skating Camp

Hooksett NH Half Day Camp July 8-12
TriTown ice arena, 9:30am-12:30pm
Ages 6-17, boys and girls
Goalies Forwards Defensemen
- Total 7.5 hours on ice in 1 week
- Both Program Directors will be on the ice
- Peter Klim's Radius Edge Power Skating
- For the first half of our ice session we focus on power skating. Players are grouped by both age and skill level
- Over the course of 5 days we will cover the following
- Forms, posture, proper body movements, armswing, momenteum
- Edges inside outside flats, turning, crossovers, pivots, transition, resistance training
- Starts, restarts, rapid stride, long stride, overspeed
- Stops, balance and control, agility, acceleration
- Backwards, lateral, diagonal, evasiveness
- Louis Chabot's Specialized Hockey Program
- For the second half of our ice session we focus on individual player development with both tactical and team oriented game skills.
- Forward, Defensemen, Goaltender Training
- Stickhandling, shooting, scoring, dekeing, quick hands
- Angling, Body contact, Checking, Puck protection
- Screening and tips, attacking the net, scoring drills
- Drop passing, toe drags, accuracy on your shot, and more
- Individual Skating Assesment Video of Each Player
- We will film you and meet to review the next day
- Parents are encouraged to sit in on video review
- Professional assessment by coach Louis Chabot
- Total 5 hours off ice conditioning in 1 week
- Peter Klim's Total Conditioning for Hockey
- Forms, Dynamic stretching, Plyometric program
- New Plyometric training exercise everyday
- Timed agility tests
- Fast twitch muscle development exercises

Starting at 9:30am groups will be split and trained outside weather permitting.

Goaltender development
Goaltenders will receive personal training during the first 45 minutes followed by 45 minutes of
live action in the nets with our shooting and game situational stations. Max. 4 goalies
Each session is 60 minutes off-ice training, then 1.5 hours on-ice training

What to expect
- Each training day you can expect...
- FORMS and lots of them, some are stationary but most moving. Forms are such a critical part of proper skating development. Even the NHL players seek the professional eye
of a power skating instructor to identify where they can improve. We run extensive forms exercises
in progression for all levels to explore and develop.
- We'll spend the 1st half of our ice session Power Skating
- For Powerskating we typically break into smaller groups and rotate through several stations
- We'll spend the 2nd half of our ice session developing Game Skills
- Passing, various types of passing, skating and passing(timing skills), self passes using boards
- Stickhandling stationary and dynamic, individual puck control, hand eye coordination, dekes fakes,
slow, fast, wide, narrow, toe drags and a plethora of NHL style dekes moves and fake
- Shooting, wrist, snap, backhander, chip, flip, knuckler, slap, half slap, trick shots, rebounds, one timers, and more
- Peter, Louis, and the talented Radius Edge Instruction staff will be on hand each day
